The beautiful Great Sand Hills cover 1,900 square kilometers in southwestern Saskatchewan and it is the kind of place that everyone needs to visit at least once in their life. The sandy soil doesn't retain much in the way of moisture or nutrients, leaving most of the flora stunted and desperate looking.
